January goes berserk

On January 10th our lives were turned upside down when Jonas came home injured from playing church basketball.   He was in so much pain and we didn't know what exactly had happened so the next day we took him in to the instacare and the doctor told him he had torn his Achilles tendon.  Oh no!  So he had to have surgery.  So he had to have a cast and be on crutches for a while.  So he had to be in a big boot for a while after that.  And of course he couldn't drive.  At least it was just temporary.  But it felt like FOREVER!!

Before the surgery.  Happy as can be, but a little nervous.

Bored, waiting at the hospital.

After the surgery.  Totally out of it, and I'm taking lot's of pictures and video.
See what a nice wifey I am?

On the bright side, he got to ride the little cart cars in Walmart!!

Waiting to get the cast put on.

The stitched up heel.

Putting the cast on...Squish was very interested in the process.

Then he developed a really bad rash in his cast and had to get it off early!
I was glad because the cast was driving him crazy.
I got some awesome videos of them taking the cast off but I didn't get any pictures!  So that's the end of the picture tour, but after that he started having really bad pain behind the knee and he went in on Valentine's day for an ultrasound and they said he had a couple of big blood clots in this thigh and admitted him to the hospital right away!  So that was our Valentine's date.  Watching Prison Break on my Ipod touch in the hospital, haha.
It was actually quite scary and he had to start taking blood thinners and I had to give him injections every day!!
After that he slowly got better and better, and eventually got the clearance to start putting some pressure as he walked, started driving a little and now he is {almost} as good as new.   It will still be a long road until he feels 100% but at least he is okay!
